I am not a New England Patriots fan, but I live in Boston where making that statement is frowned upon. (My husband is already not happy with this post!!!) This will be my third Super Bowl since moving to Boston, and the second of those in which the Patriots are playing. So although I am not a fan, it is only right that my Super Bowl dessert is inspired by the Patriots.
I love that hard ciders are so widely available these days. Cider is such a great fall flavor and goes well with so many other fall flavors. And now you can even get different seasonal cider flavors year round! For this recipe I used the Original Angry Orchard, but I look forward to experimenting with other cider flavors and other cider recipes with these flavors! Continue Reading
I’ve lived in Boston for about 2 years now, and I just recently discovered that Marshmallow Fluff was invented here! Well…Somerville to be exact. And not only that, but there is an annual Fluff Festival, complete with a cooking contest!
Of course I had to enter, and I had so many flavor ideas! Eventually I settled on a sweet potato and maple bourbon dessert. The week before the recipe was due to the Festival, I got sick and knew I wasn’t going to be able to test recipes all week as planned. I considered not entering the contest, but ended up submitting a recipe at the last minute. I didn’t win, but I am so glad I didn’t bail on the contest, and I am thrilled with how this dessert turned out! A little bit of southern and a little bit of Massachusetts: sweet potato cupcakes with a marshmallow ganache and maple bourbon marshmallow frosting!
