Tis the season of cookies exchanges! I’ve had so many friends requesting recipes to use for cookie exchanges they are participating in. I’ve never been part of one, but I frequently share my Perfectly Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe because it is so easy to make and if you need to make a lot of cookies, easy is so important!
Aside from dessert, my favorite food on the Thanksgiving table is the sweet potatoes. And that’s probably because it’s basically a dessert that’s served with dinner. My mom’s sweet potatoes are always topped with cherries, pineapple rings, and plenty of marshmallows. Just how I like ’em!
Thanksgiving is a holiday that focuses on tradition and family. It seems like every year we go to the same house and eat the same food with the same people. As a person of routine, I love tradition. I order the same food at the same restaurants. I try to maintain as much consistency in my schedule as possible. I love comfortable and familiar. Last year I discovered that Marshmallow Fluff is from Somerville, a city right outside of Boston, and that every year Somerville has a Fluff Festival. I also found out that this festival has a baking contest, so of course I have to enter. If you didn’t see my entry from last year, I made these.
