Fat Tuesday is this week and I’ve never been to Mardis Gras, but I absolutely love New Orleans. The city is so fun and so beautiful and the food is unreal. Of course, my initial thought for a Mardis Gras recipe was a King cake, but I wanted to give it my own little twist. I also considered a beignet because it’s basically my favorite food in New Orleans. But I also want to keep my recipes as easy as possible. When I look at a recipe, even though I love baking, if it looks difficult or time-consuming I procrastinate on making it and then end up buying a box at the last minute. Some of it is probably that I love sweets way too much and just want the final product to be ready! But a lot of it is because I live in a tiny apartment with a teeny tiny kitchen and a complicated recipe is stressful. Especially when I know I can make something just as good with a lot less stress! It’s (once again) been a while since I’ve given you a new recipe, so I’m coming back strong with an easy, no-bake recipe: Unicorn Pie! Kellogg’s makes a vanilla cupcake flavored cereal that they call Unicorn cereal. It is a limited edition flavor, and as far as I knew, it was only available at the Kellogg’s store in New York. Then one day, I’m just minding my own business walking through BJ’s (it’s the New England equivalent of Sam’s Club) and I see a huge box of Unicorn Cereal! It’s probably the equivalent of two family size boxes. I don’t really need that much Unicorn cereal, but it was my only option so I went with it. Continue Reading
Just because I’m out of town this week doesn’t mean I’m going to leave you hanging on a recipe! But I am going to keep this post short and sweet. Summer will be here before we know it and I can’t think of a better flavor combination than raspberry and rosé! Rosé seems to be trendier this summer than it has before, and rightly so. Rosé is the perfect summer drink. Light, cool, refreshing, and most importantly, delicious! And adding raspberries is really just a good idea. Continue Reading
Can you believe it’s already May?! April flew by without me bringing you a single recipe. So here I am, in May, asking you to forgive me by sharing with you what is quite possibly one of my favorite recipes yet. This Lavender Lemon Meringue Pie looks and tastes perfect for spring, and makes an ideal Mother’s Day treat!
Tis the season of cookies exchanges! I’ve had so many friends requesting recipes to use for cookie exchanges they are participating in. I’ve never been part of one, but I frequently share my Perfectly Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe because it is so easy to make and if you need to make a lot of cookies, easy is so important!
