Here in Boston we’re expecting our third nor’easter in a row this week. The first one was all rain, the next one was a few inches of snow, so who knows what to expect this week! But today was spring forward so that means spring is close, right? Well, I know that Easter is just a few weeks away. And so is Passover. Those mean spring, right?! I remember making hamentaschen with my mom when I was younger, but I haven’t made them in years because I’m usually not a huge fan of the cookie. For those who don’t know, hamentaschen are triangle shaped cookies that represent the villain, Haman, of the Jewish holiday, Purim. They are usually similar to a shortbread cookie and are filled with a fruit or poppyseed filling. As a dessert, it’s just never been the type of cookie that excites me. Tis the season of cookies exchanges! I’ve had so many friends requesting recipes to use for cookie exchanges they are participating in. I’ve never been part of one, but I frequently share my Perfectly Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe because it is so easy to make and if you need to make a lot of cookies, easy is so important!

Last year I discovered that Marshmallow Fluff is from Somerville, a city right outside of Boston, and that every year Somerville has a Fluff Festival. I also found out that this festival has a baking contest, so of course I have to enter. If you didn’t see my entry from last year, I made these.
