Bourbon Peach Sweet Tea Cupcakes

Happy summer!  I am so glad summer is finally here.  My favorite thing about summer is the abundance of fruit.  I get so burnt out on apples in the fall and winter, so when the bright, colorful fruits start popping up I get so excited.  One of my favorite summer flavors is peach.

I created this cupcake a few years back for a good friend’s birthday. Her favorite beverage is a bourbon peach sweet tea (I’m from the south!) and I decided to recreate that drink as a cupcake.  Continue Reading

So I know these National food days get out of hand, but  bear with me here.  Sunday is National German Chocolate Cake.  It’s also my dad’s birthday.  And German Chocolate Cake is his favorite cake.  Is your mind blown?! Mine was.  But maybe that’s because I’ve known his favorite is German Chocolate Cake for a long time, but only recently discovered that the official holiday is on the same day as his birthday! We agreed that the large one would be savory and the small one would be sweet.  Because what one person would need more than 8 inches of skillet dessert?  (Oh wait, me. I would.)  Continue Reading

Lily Cupcakes

And just like the Derby has the Mint Julep, the Oaks has the Lily.  In my personal opinion, the Lily is a far superior drink to the Mint Julep. It’s cranberry juice, vodka, triple sec, and sweet and sour. Not too sweet, but just sweet enough.

I love the look of a zested orange!
