Instructions
  1. Combine butter, sugar, bourbon, and extract.
  2. Refrigerate mixture for 1 hour.
  3. Scoop approximately one inch balls out of the mixture and place on parchment paper lined cookie sheet.
  4. Freeze for at least 2 hours.
  5. When frozen, melt the melting chocolates according to package instructions.
  6. Dip each ball in the chocolate, and set on a cooling rack over a cookie sheet so the excess chocolate can drip off.
  7. Allow balls to harden.

I kept the filling in the freezer for a couple days before dipping them into the chocolate.

I used Wilton Dark Cocoa melting chocolates, but you can melt the chocolate of your preference and the melting method of your choice.

The Mint Julep Balls will harden fairly quickly once dipped.

I am keeping the finished Mint Julep Balls in the freezer until guests arrive because our house gets warm and I don’t want them to melt!
