Crust
  1. Combine cereal crumbs, sugar, and melted butter in a bowl till the crumbs are well moistened.
  2. Press crumbs into bottom of pie dish, and up the sides of the dish.
Filling
  1. Combine all ingredients except butter in a saucepan.
  2. Heat over medium-low heat, whisking constantly. Be sure to break up all the clumps of dry ingredients.
  3. When mixture thickens, remove from heat and stir in butter. Feel free to add food coloring here if you’d like.
  4. Cool filling.
  5. Pour into pie crust and refrigerate till completely chilled.
Recipe Notes

To make the cereal milk, combine approximately 3 cups of milk (remember, the cereal will soak up some of the milk!) and 1-2 cups of cereal.  Soak for 12-24 hours.  Strain out the milk, leaving the cereal behind. I use a french press, and allow the milk to soak for the 12-24 hours before pressing down and pouring the milk.
