This past weekend my Super Bowl dreams were shattered. As a Titans fan, it felt like this could have been the year! Unfortunately, two teams will be going to the Super Bowl, and neither of them will be mine. I will be there for the commercials, a good game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, and obviously, (and most importantly) the snacks. I’m really glad I tested these dessert nachos over the weekend because I ate the entire plate to ease my pain of the Titans’ loss. I cannot believe it’s already 2019. 2018 was such a great year. Like any year, it definitely had some big downs, but it also had a lot of ups. I have a lot of high hopes for 2019. It seems like as soon as January 1st hit, the stores were covered in pink and red and Valentine’s day was everywhere. And I love Valentine’s day. It’s one of my favorite holidays! But before Valentine’s day gets here, we have another exciting holiday: Super Bowl Sunday! Living in New England, I continuously discover things that are local or regional to my hometown in Kentucky. Recently I discovered that people here are not familiar with Puppy Chow. Or, I should say, they’re not familiar with the name “Puppy Chow” for the chocolatey, peanut buttery, powdered sugary, addictive treat. They call it by other names, but when I refer to Puppy Chow they all think I’m crazy.
I am not a New England Patriots fan, but I live in Boston where making that statement is frowned upon. (My husband is already not happy with this post!!!) This will be my third Super Bowl since moving to Boston, and the second of those in which the Patriots are playing. So although I am not a fan, it is only right that my Super Bowl dessert is inspired by the Patriots.
