Maple Bourbon Chocolate Pecan Pie

Ingredients

  • 9" unbaked deep dish pie crust or a 10" standard pie crust
  • 3 eggs
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup flour
  • ¼ cup bourbon
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • ½ stick butter melted and cooled
  • 1 cup chocolate chips plus a little extra for topping
  • ½ cup crushed pecans

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350° F. Place pie crust (in pie pan) on baking sheet.
  • Whisk together eggs, sugar, flour, bourbon, maple syrup, and butter till combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and pecans.
  • Pour into pie crust.
  • Sprinkle a handful of chocolate chips over the top of the filling.
  • Bake about 40-45 minutes, till the filling is just barely set.
  • Enjoy warm with ice cream or room temperature.

Notes

Place the pie dish on a baking sheet to bake. This will catch any potential overflow.
Instead of a pie, make Maple Bourbon Chocolate Pecan Pie Bars by using a roll-out pie crust or homemade pie crust and using an 8x8 pan instead of a pie dish.
Cool completely before slicing.
