Line the inside of the cinnamon roll dough with the apple pie filling (and replace any cinnamon filling that came off the dough).
¾ cup apple pie filling
Roll the dough back up, making sure the dough is rolling over the apple pieces and is not pushing the apples out the sides.
Place the cinnamon rolls in an ungreased pan, and bake 20 minutes or until golden brown.
If using, combine honey and brown sugar, drizzle over warm rolls, and enjoy!
¼ cup honey, 1 tablespoon brown sugar

Notes
When selecting canned cinnamon rolls, be sure the dough is rolled up and not sliced. If using Pillsbury brand, be sure to use Grands.Homemade cinnamon roll dough will work for this recipe, and you'll add the apple pie filling before you roll the dough up. Homemade pie filling will also work, just be sure to dice the apples into small, bite-sized pieces. When rolling the pie filling into the dough, keep your hands on the sides of the dough as you roll the dough over the apple pieces to help keep the apples from slipping out of the sides. These can be prepped the night before, covered in plastic wrap, refrigerated overnight, and baked in the morning. Just be sure not to put a cold baking dish into a hot oven. I would suggest storing them on a plate or dish separate from the one you'll use to bake them, and then transferring them into the baking dish when ready to bake.
