Last year I discovered that Marshmallow Fluff is from Somerville, a city right outside of Boston, and that every year Somerville has a Fluff Festival. I also found out that this festival has a baking contest, so of course I have to enter. If you didn’t see my entry from last year, I made these.
You wouldn’t know it from this heat, but fall is almost here! Fall is my favorite time of year. And to be honest, (unpopular opinion coming…) I’m not a fan of the pumpkin stuff. I don’t drink the PSLs, I don’t eat pumpkin pie, I just really don’t care for pumpkin anything. But Shipyard Pumpkinhead is a super popular fall beer here in Boston. And it’s served in a glass with a cinnamon sugar rim.
When my husband and I finally decided to spend our wedding gift cards, probably like 2 years after our wedding, one of our purchases was cast iron skillets. We got a really large one, and then a smaller 8″ one. My husband spent a lot of time learning how to care and maintain them and learned that we should have separate cast irons for savory and sweet. A lot of the people nearest and dearest to me have April birthdays. When April birthdays fall on Passover, it’s particularly difficult to get creative. Flourless chocolate cake and meringues seem to be fairly consistent desserts during Passover (though, real talk, those Passover boxed cake mixes are legit).
