    Why this Recipe Works

I mean, it's Nutella Ice Cream, how could it not be incredible?! This recipe is so easy to make with no ice cream machine or special equipment needed, and the result comes out so soft and smooth and creamy. It's made by combining Nutella with sweetened condensed milk, and then folding it into whipped cream and freezing. It's sweet, simple, and so delicious!

    Ingredients and Notes

Three ingredients needed to make no-churn Nutella ice cream.

Nutella - Any chocolate hazelnut spread will work great in this quick and easy recipe. If it's one that separates, just be sure to stir it well before measuring it out to add to the recipe.

Sweetened Condensed Milk - Sweetened condensed milk contributes to both the sweetness of this rich, chocolatey recipe, as well as the softened texture. Sugar can result in a grainy texture so sweetened condensed milk ensures a smooth and delicious ice cream.

Heavy Cream - The cream will be whipped into whipped cream, which gives this Nutella Ice Cream its creamy texture. This cannot be replaced with milk or a lighter cream.

Step 1: Combine Nutella and sweetened condensed milk, and set aside.

Step 4: Pour into loaf pan and freeze for at least 4 hours.

    Recipe FAQs

Why is condensed milk used in no-churn ice cream?

Condensed milk makes no-churn ice cream both sweet and creamy. Using sugar as a sweetener will result in a grainy ice cream, but condensed milk replaces both the sugar and the milk or heavy cream that you may see in other ice cream recipes. Plus, it gives both the perfect texture and the best flavor to the ice cream!

Does homemade ice cream need eggs?

Often ice cream recipes will call for eggs, however no-churn ice cream should be made without eggs. No eggs are needed in this Nutella Ice Cream recipe!

Is evaporated milk the same as condensed milk?

No! Evaporated milk is much thinner in consistency and does not have the same sweetness as sweetened condensed milk. You will want to be sure you're using sweetened condensed milk for this no-churn ice cream recipe.

    Tips & Tricks

Tip #1: Freezing a metal loaf pan ahead of making this recipe helps this Nutella dessert to freeze more quickly, but if you don't have a metal pan, that's okay too. Just make sure it's freezer safe!

Tip #2: When whipping cream, you can check if it's ready by stopping the mixer and sticking the beater or whisk straight down into the mixture and pulling it straight up. If it creates a peak that stands up on its own, it's ready. Be careful not to over-whip it.

Tip #3: When folding in the Nutella mixture, fold gently to try to not let all the air out of the whipped cream!

    Storage Tips

3-Ingredient No-Churn Nutella Ice Cream should be stored well-covered in the freezer.

This ice cream is a Nutella lover's dream! Most certianly the creamiest no-churn ice cream I have made. I added a bit of strawberry preserves into the ice cream and it worked well! Thanks for the recipe!
